 HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS
SPECIFICATIONS :
- Fit valves at chiller's inlets/outlets so that it can be insulated in case of maintenance
- Install a pressure gauge (if not fitted as standard) on the cooler outlet so that the pump delivery pressure can be read
and the flow rate established
- Should the hydraulic circuit be closed, then, fit an automatic valve to prevent pump's breakage (Available option).
The required process flow rate can then be easily set using this valve.
1/ Connect the chiller's inlets/outlets to the pipes of the process or machine to be cooled (after checking compatibility
between process head loss and pump pressure).
2/ To avoid condensation on the pipes and reduce energy loss, lag the network pipes using insulating sheath with a
suitable thermal insulation ratio.
3/ Chiller's connections must comply with the required dimensions; to avoid increasing the head loss, do not install the
cooler too far from the process. In any case, establish pressure head loss of the circuit and be sure that the pump is
OK; (In any doubt, contact our technical service.)
4/ Ensure the fluid to be cooled flows in the correct direction.
5/ Fit venting systems at high points so that any air in the cooling circuit can be removed.
 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
REFER TO THE ENCLOSED ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM
Check that power supply voltage and frequency complies with the values indicated on the chiller. Use a suitable power
lead for the total power and voltage of the equipment. To comply with electrical rules, the power lead must be correctly
sized, and protected by a circuit breaker of suitable capacity.
The circulation pump must operate continuously. The regulation switch actuates the compressor. Should the
compressor operates while there is no flow (pump stopped), the frigorific and hydraulic equipment will be damaged.
Three-phase chiller can be supplied in 400V/3/50Hz or 460V/3/60Hz. According to required power supply,
wiring on the transformer must be adapted according to electrical diagram and pictures below.
Connection to power supply
DO NOT OPERATE THE COMPRESSOR WITHOUT WATER FLOW
THE PUMP MUST OPERATE CONTINUOUSLY
 PLEASE NOTE
For air condensing units, fan and compressor operates simultaneously.
For water condensing units, user must ensure that the condenser is continuously connected to water flow. Securities
must be instored to ensure that the power supply is cutted in case of very low water flow.
The above principles must be observed.
Selection of protection devices for actuators (motor fans, compressors, pumps, resistors, etc.) and wiring must be
carried out by qualified personnel in accordance to electrical standards.
