within the range indicated [10.3]. The extractor
connector on the extraction pipe will no longer be
secure if rotated outside of this range.
Chip guard
The chip guard [10.2] can be moved to the top po-
sition to change the router bit, for example. Slide
the chip guard upwards until it engages or push
the machine down as far as possible.
We recommend lowering the chip guard before
starting work to improve the efficiency of the ex-
traction system. Push the lever [10.1] towards the
handle to do this.
KSF-OF chip deflector
The chip deflector KSF-OF [11.1] indirectly in-
creases the efficiency of the extraction system
during edge routing. The maximum possible rout-
ing diameter is 78 mm.
The deflector is fitted in a similar way to the copy-
ing ring (see "Copy routing").
The hood can be cut off along the grooves [11.2]
using a hacksaw and can thus be reduced in size.
The chip deflector can then be used for interior
radiuses up to a minimum radius of 52 mm.

Operation

WARNING
Risk of accident - read the following instruc-
tions:
fAlways secure the workpiece in such a man-
ner that it cannot move while being routed.
fAlways hold the machine with both hands and
by the handles [2.4] available.
fAlways switch on the router before bring-
ing the router bit into contact with the work-
piece!
fBefore starting work, make sure that the
clamp lever [1.6] is closed and the eccenter
[1.7] is open.
fAlways ensure that the cutting power of the
machine works against the feed direction of
the machine (up-cut routing).
Procedure
fPreset the required routing depth.
fSwitch on the machine.
fUnscrew the rotary knob [1.3].
18
fPush the machine down as far as possible.
fClamp the machine in this position by tighten-
ing the rotary knob [1.3].
fPerform the routing task.
fUnscrew the rotary knob [1.3].
fMove the machine slowly upwards to the stop.
fSwitch off the machine.

8.1 Machine guidance methods

a) Routing with side stop
The side stop (partly as an accessory) is posi-
tioned parallel to the workpiece edge.
fSecure both guide rods [12.4] with the two rotary
knobs [12.2] on the side stop.
fInsert the guide rods into the grooves on the
router base to the required distance and secure
them by turning the rotary knob [12.1].
Fine adjustment
fUnscrew the rotary knob [12.7] to make fine
adjustments with the adjusting wheel [12.5].
The dial ring [12.6] has a 0.1 mm scale for this
purpose. If the adjusting wheel is held secure,
the dial ring can be turned separately and set to
"Zero". The millimetre scale [12.3] on the main
casing is useful for making larger adjustments.
fTighten the rotary knob [12.7] again after com-
pleting any fine adjustments.
fAdjust both guidance jaws [13.3] so that they
are approx. 5 mm from the router bit. To do this,
undo screws [13.2] and tighten again after com-
pleting the adjustments.
fOnly when routing along an edge: slide the ex-
tractor hood [13.1] until it latches into position
on the side stop and connect an extraction hose
27 mm or 36 mm in diameter to the extractor
connector [13.4]. Alternatively, leave the machine
to extract the dust via the extractor connector.
b) Copy routing
When routing with templates, fit an integrated cop-
ying ring to the router (accessory).
L
Copying rings can be used in combination with
the standard base runner. A special base run-
ner is available as an accessory to improve the
contact surface.
