Intended use
The product is used to insert an external audio signal (analogue via 3.5 mm stereo jack plug or
digital/optical via TOSLINK plug) into a HDMI signal.
The power adapter enclosed is used to supply the power.

• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE). Do not disassemble the product.
• This product is not a toy. Devices operated on mains voltage should not be used
by children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use in dry, indoor locations only. No part of the product
should become damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet!
Wall plug transformers pose the potential risk of a fatal electric shock!
• The design of the power adapter complies with Protection Class II. Use only a
standard mains socket as the power source for the power adapter.
• The mains socket into which the power adapter is plugged must be easily acces-
sible.
• Use only the power adapter supplied to power the audio inserter.
• Do not pull the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold
it on the sides of the casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• Never touch a power adapter that shows signs of damage, as this could cause a
fatal electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the power adapter is con-
nected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse
or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch, so that the socket is fully
disconnected).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the
faulty power adapter in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more.
Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.

Connection and start-up
a) Setup and connection
• Using a suitable HDMI-compatible cable, connect the HDMI input (9) to the HDMI output on
a player, e.g. a Blu-ray player, a game console, etc. Using a suitable adapter (not included in
the delivery), you can also connect to the DVI port on a PC or notebook.
• Connect your TV or monitor to the HDMI output (1).
• A 3.5 mm stereo jack plug (10) is available for feeding an analogue audio signal. Connect, for
instance, the analogue audio output (line level) on your player (e.g. a PC) to this port.
Should a digital audio signal be used (2-channel or also 5.1), then this can be fed to the
TOSLINK jack (8).
• Connect the circular low-voltage plug of the power adapter provided to the corresponding
socket (7) of the audio inserter.
• Place the audio inserter on a solid, horizontal surface. Protect the surfaces of valuable furni-
ture by using an appropriate underlay to avoid scratches and pressure marks.
The delivery includes 4 rubber feet. Glue them to the underside of the housing of the audio
inserter (one rubber foot on each corner), if necessary.
• Plug the power adapter into a mains socket.
b) Switch on/off
Press the On/Off switch (6) of the audio inserter to turn the device on or off. In the switched-on
status, the "Power" LED is lit up.
The "Link" (3) LED lights up when a HDMI signal is detected at the input.
A HDMI or audio signal cannot be transmitted if the audio inserter is turned off.
c) Selecting the audio mode
The audio mode is selected with the sliding switch (5).
"HDMI" switch position:
The HDMI signal is looped through without being changed. The "Bypass" LED (2) lights up.
"L/R" switch position:
The audio signal at the analogue input (10) is inserted into the HDMI signal.
"Optical" switch position:
The audio signal at the digital input (8) is inserted into the HDMI signal.
