7. Setup

When selecting the installation location for your device, avoid proximity to direct sunlight,
vibration, dust, hot and cold temperatures and dampness. Keep the appliance away from strong
transformers or motors.
When setting it up with other equipment, make sure that the appliance is well ventilated. Keep
a sufficient distance to heat sources. Do not place the CD player directly next to heat sources,
e.g. an amplifier. Do not point any strong beams or light sources onto the device. This may lead
to overheating (risk of fire).
The heat extraction of the device may not be obstructed. Never place the product on soft
surfaces such as, for example, a carpet or a bed. Do not cover the ventilation apertures of the
device. The air circulation may not be obstructed by objects such as magazines, table cloths,
curtains or similar. This prevents heat extraction from the device and can lead to overheating
(risk of fire).
Only operate the CD player on a sturdy surface that is not sensitive to high temperatures.
Make sure you position the appliance in a safe and stabile place, away from objects that might
might fall on it, thereby avoiding unwanted accidents.
Do not drill any additional holes or screw any additional screws into the housing to mount the
device, since this could make contact to dangerous voltages possible.
Make sure that the connection cables are not being pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. Risk of injury!
The cables must have a sufficient length. Avoid mechanical strain on the cables. This may
damage the cables or the device. Danger of fatal electric shock!
In view of the variety of paints and polishes used for furniture, the base of the device may leave visible
residues on the furniture it is placed on caused by a chemical reaction. That's why do not place the
device without appropriate protection on the valuable furniture surfaces.
The CD player must be placed on a level surface. The inclination of the casing may not exceed 15°, otherwise
the CDs are not read correctly.
Please also consider the readability of the display when selecting the installation site.
