Keep third parties away from the power tool's area of
operation. Never work while animals or people,
especially children, are in the danger zone.
Keep the work area clean, organized and well lit (250 to 300
lux light), thus decreasing the risk of accidents.
Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection,
anti-slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and
helmet properly reduces the risk of injury.
Wear a heat-resistant protective apron if particles that may
be hot or glowing are projected.
Anyone coming into the work area must wear personal
protective equipment. Fragments of workpiece may be
projected and cause injury.
Clothing worn during the machine operation must be
adequate, tight and closed, for example, a work boiler suit.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
Never use the power tool if the safety devices are missing,
inhibited, damaged or worn out.
The following precautions and procedures should also be
followed to avoid accidents:
▪ The rotary accessories speed of the angle grinder must
be at least equal to the maximum speed stated in the
technical specifications;
▪ When using the angle grinder, place yourself in a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the power
tool firmly to ensure continuous operation and withstand
unexpected situations, such as kickback;
▪ The kickback is a sudden reaction that happens when
the power tool is switched on and the rotary accessory
gets jammed. The rotating accessory kickback forces the
power tool to rotate in the opposite direction to the
rotation of the accessory;
▪ The kickback occurs due to an incorrect use of the power
tool or due to an improper working procedure which can
cause serious injuries to the user. Loss of control can
result in serious injury. To avoid the kickback, the
following precautions must be considered:
- Always use the auxiliary handle for maximum control
over kickback or torque during acceleration and start-up
of the angle grinder;
- Place and keep the rotating accessory in the right
position and well tightened;
- Do not place yourself in the area where the power tool
will move, in case of a kickback;
▪ Never place your hands near the rotating accessory.
Keep your hands away from the rotating accessories;
▪ When the rotating accessory gets stuck, switch off the
power tool. If you lose the control, disconnect the power
cord;
▪ To avoid displacements or projections use a fixing device
or a bench vice to ensure a safe performance;
Place/maintain the workpiece in a correct and stable
position;
▪ The outside diameter and the thickness of your
accessory must be within the capacity rating of your
power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be
adequately guarded or controlled;
▪ Always install the supplied disc guard. If necessary, the
disc guard should be replaced by one with a material of
equal strength and with a protection angle of no more
than 180°;
