4. Initial start-up
When the device is put into operation for the first time, check the intactness of
the product or components and their function again. Please remove the kettle and
the heating element from the packing and clean the unit with a damp cloth. After-
wards connect the kettle only to a properly installed grounded socket. Before reg-
ular use, fill the water reservoir with cold water to its maximum level and boil ac-
cording the following instructions. Thereafter discard the water in order to remove
any residues of the production process. Never operate the device unattended and
check it before each use for possible damage and correct mounting.
5. Handling
Press the opening button to open the cover. Then fill the Arendo kettle with cold
water and close the cover by pressing down the cover until it locks.
Important note: Please make sure not to fill in more than the maximum level of 1,7
l as marked on the scale, which is located on the right inner side.Place the kettle
on to the bottom heating and set the On/Off button downwards to heat the water.
As soon as the target temperature has been reached, the kettle will automatically
turn off.
6. Decaling and cleaning
We recommend decalcifying the kettle in regular intervals, depending on the in-
tensity of use. Before cleaning, it is essential to remove the power plug from the
socket and wait until the device is completely cooled down. The scale filter is locat-
ed prior to the spout. To remove the filter, open the cover and push the plastic flap
downwards. Then deep clean the taken filter with warm water and insert it into
the holder again. When inserting the filter, take care that the retaining lug is fixed
to the guide rail. Only use conventional decaling agents based on citric acid. Please
follow the manufacturer´s instructions for dosing the respective product you have
chosen. The heating element must not be cleaned and never be processed with
sharp or hard objects. For cleaning the outer surface of the kettle, only use a damp
cloth. Never use hard or abrasive objects like a wire brush or a steel-sponge for
cleaning. Please do not use any aggressive cleaning agents which could be harmful
for human consumption or damage the surface.
