  • Page 6 Microscope Operation Viewing Objects and Slides – you can view coins, stamps, currency, gems, plants, foods, circuit boards, specimen slides, and many other things. You need to read the information about focusing, power, and illumination below before proceeding. Focusing & Changing Power (Magnification) When the microscope is placed directly over the object or slide, use the focus ring (see Figure 3) to obtain a sharp focus.
  • Page 7 For high power, you will move the power switch to the “HIGH” setting which will give you 50x. At the high power, your views will be greatly magnified but somewhat darker.   • Page 8 Using the Digital Camera for Viewing and/or Imaging with your Microscope Attaching your Digital Camera to your Microscope First, you need to remove the eyepiece (see Figure 1) from the eyepiece tube by pulling it straight up. Take off the protective cap from the camera. Next, install the camera into the eyepiece tube by pushing it gently into the eyepiece tube.
