Cable Detector "BT-300 WT"

Intended use

The cable detector is used for fast detection of pairs of wires, cables and lines using the continuity check,
line and polarity test.
Power is supplied by a non-rechargeable/ rechargeable battery (9 V pack) in the receiver and Mignon non-
rechargeable/ rechargeable batteries in the transmitter.
The measuring instrument must not be used when it is open, i.e. with an open battery compartment or when
the battery compartment cover is missing. Measuring under adverse ambient conditions such as dust and
flammable gasses, vapours or solvents is not admissible.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating instructions.

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect
handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• Never use the product immediately after taking it from a cold room to a warm one. The con-
densation that forms might damage the product under certain circumstances.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transport:
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong impacts, blows
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
• The product may not be subjected to electromagnetic fields and high humidity or liquids. Take
appropriate protective measures when using outdoors.
• Never perform the cable measurement on an active circuit or circuits with AC voltage. This
could destroy the measurement device or cause substantial injury to you. Before each use,
check that the cables are free of voltage.
• Do not exceed the allowed maximum cable length of the line to be measured. This could
distort the measurement result.
General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk that they could be swallowed by
children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged non-rechargeable/ rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid

burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.

• Normal/rechargeable batteries may not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fire. There is a risk of
explosion.
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Please observe correct polarity (note plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the non-rechargeable/ recharge-
able battery.

Inserting/Replacing the Battery/Rechargeable Battery
1. The POWER LED starts to flash when the charge of the non-rechargeable/ rechargeable battery gets
weak.
You should replace or recharge the non-rechargeable/ rechargeable battery.
2. Loosen the small screw on the transmitter using a screwdriver and then remove the battery compartment
cover "11" carefully.
The battery compartment cover "11" of the recipient is provided with only a small locking lug. Press it
gently upwards and then remove the battery compartment cover "11" carefully using the side handle grip.
3. Remove the empty non-rechargeable/ rechargeable battery from the battery compartment "11" and,
where applicable, insert a new non-rechargeable/ rechargeable battery of the same type (see technical
data) observing the correct polarity. Do not use force.
4. Close the battery compartment cover carefully again.
