1 — PRESENTATION
1.1 - DESCRIPTION
The TAL-800 Series CATV amplifiers can be used either as line amplifiers or distribution amplifiers
in 862 MHz systems. The range includes line and mains powered models:

The housing is opened downwards. It contains an amplification module and a power supply module
which are modular and can be taken out and replaced, if required, without removing the amplifier
from its position and without the need of disconnection. How both modules are replaced is explained
in the user guides supplied with the spare modules.
Input and output-1 cables can be connected underneath as well as in the sides of the housing.
Configuration
Sixteen small plug-in links located on the amplification module allow:
a) to implement a tap or splitter at the input;
b) to implement a tap or splitter at the output;
c) to configurate wide adjustment ranges for flat attenuation,
equalization/cable simulation and sloped response;
d) to implement a FW preamplifier;
e) to cut the return path;
f) to define the power input and power passing ports.
A plug-in external circuit card TMC-1X2 is required to implement ALSC
function (Automatic Level and Slope Control).
