3. Hardware
It is possible that you need an extra power adapter when a device needs more power
than supplied by the Firewire PC Card. When your connected device needs external
power, you can purchase the optional power adapter for the Firewire PC Card with
code DYNA1394C via your dealer.

4. Software Installation

4.1 Installation for Windows 98SE
1. Start up your laptop PC and insert the IEEE 1394 PC card into the CardBus
PCMCIA slot. Connect the IEEE 1394 cable to the PC card. Windows will
automatically detect the card and a dialogue box will appear, reading, 'Texas
Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller'. Click 'Next'.
2. Select 'Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)', and click
'Next' to search for the Windows generic driver.
3. Do not select an option here and click 'Next" to confirm the driver found by
Windows.
4. Windows finds the 'Updated Driver (Recommended)' Texas Instruments OHCI
Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller. Click 'Next'.
5. Windows will find the Texas Instrument OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host
Controller. Click on 'Next'.
6. Windows may request you to 'Insert Windows CD-ROM into the driver selected.
Click 'OK'.

Follow this instruction and input CD-ROM location, e.g. 'D:\Win98' assuming
'D:' is your CD-ROM drive.
