Deep Clean Maintenance
All internal cleaning should be done using pond water only. This is to ensure the
living bacteria within your filter is not affected. Using tap water will kill all living
bacteria within your pond filter so it is vital that only pond water is used when
doing cleaning maintenance.
1. Remove the filter lid - Unfasten and remove the
head clasp. Pull the AUTO-PFC Lid clear of the filter
and place upside down on a flat surface.
2. Remove the filter sponges - Unscrew parts AUTO-
PFC-5000 20, 21, 16, 22, AUTO-PFC-50000 14 15, 16,
then remove the filter sponges.
3. Clean filter sponges - Clean the filter sponges and
replace. Re-attach the parts as above.
4. Clean bio-mechanical media - rinse through your
filter media.
5. Clean body and all attachments.
6. Reassemble.
O-rings
It is vital that O-rings are regularly inspected and replaced as the rubber
watertight seal will perish over time, which may cause your unit to leak. Before
replacing your o-rings, ensure they are well lubricated.
