B) How to troubleshoot (Unit does not work)
Trouble
Abnormal display or LCD blank when power
is turned on, though batteries are installed.
The unit does not measure the blood pressure
values or abnormally low/high values are
displayed.
Please Note: If a patient has serious arrhythmia, it may not always be possible to measure
blood pressure.
Measured values are different from those
measured in hospital;or, every measurement
is different.
The pressure does not rise although the pump
is running.
Note: Some measuring errors result from special physical conditions and some may be related to
user technique; but in rare cases, there can also be mechanical problems. If the unit still does not
work, even after the above, bring it to your pharmacist. Do not disassemble the unit and attempt
to repair it yourself. (There are no user serviceable parts inside).
Correction
1) Check and correct the polarity of the installed
batteries.
2) Re-install the batteries or replace with new
ones.
1) Wrap the cuff in correct position again.
2) Sleeve may be rolled up and constricting
arm. Remove clothing.
3) Measure blood pressure again.
1) Blood pressure always changes because
values depend on physical mental conditions
during the time of measurement.
2) Record a trend of daily change and consult
with your physician for guidance.
3) Many patients experience elevated readings
in their physician's office due to apprehension.
Check the connection of the cuff tube and
connect properly if necessary.
