When the i.LINK (AUDIO) terminal is connected to an amplifier or
a D/A converter, select a proper i.LINK output setting.
When using the i.LINK terminal, select "60958" or "PCM".
60958
DSD signal is output during playback of a Super Audio CD.
The digital signal in IEC60958 format is output during
playback of a CD.
PCM
DSD signal is output during playback of a Super Audio CD.
Linear PCM digital signal is output during playback of a CD.
OFF
Select this when you do not use the i.LINK (AUDIO) terminal.
No signal is output from the i.LINK (AUDIO) terminal.
< There is no difference between 60958 and PCM as far as
Super Audio CD playback is concerned.
< To output surround sound on a Super Audio CD, set the
"2ch/Multi ch" selection to "Multi MODE". If "2ch MODE" is
selected, downmixed sound will be output. (page 16)
< In case you experience any problem with the audio output,
read the instructions of the connected component to check
the adaptable format.
< If the component connected via the i.LINK terminal is
compatible with the flow rate control, the connected
component will work in the flow rate control mode.
< Set to 60958 when connecting to a device not compatible
with PCM format signals.
< The up covert setting does not affect i.LINK output.
RCA (RCA output setting)
Turns on or off digital output from the RCA terminals.
ON
Sound is output from the RCA terminal during CD playback.
OFF
There is no output from the RCA terminal. Select this setting
when not using the RCA terminal.
< The up convert setting does not affect output from the RCA
terminal.
DAC (D/A converter setting)
Select the type of D/A converter connected.
D-01
Select this setting when connecting to the Esoteric D-01.
ES-DAC
Select this setting when connecting to an Esoteric D/A
converter other than the D-01.
Others
Select this setting when connecting to a D/A converter that is
not an Esoteric D/A converter.
