TREAT TRAINING:
1. Hold a treat on the wheel to encourage your feline to climb onto it. When your cat gets on the
wheel, reward it with the Flamingo cat snacks.
2. When your cat has nished its treat, use another one to get it o the wheel.
3. Repeat the process for about 15 or 20 minutes.
4. Once your cat gets comfortable with the wheel, you can use a treat to entice it to move forward.
Get your cat to take a couple of steps and reward it. Slowly increase the height at which you hold
the treat.
5. Reward with a treat when your cat stays on the wheel or if it starts walking all by itself.
Tips: Break up the treats in tiny pieces so you can reward your cat without overfeeding it. And use
gloves to avoid getting scratched.
TOY TRAINING:
Toys, and especially lure toys, are a very e ective way to guide your cat where to go. We
recommend to use either a Flamingo laser pointer or a feather wand. In general, with toys it is
going to be a little bit trickier at times, because you've got to get your cat to get comfortable and
enticed and your feline has to be in the right mood to do it.

How to encourage your cat to use the
Flamingo running wheel?
Cats do not have a natural instinct to run on a wheel. There is a
process to it and while there are a few cats that will take right to
one, most of them need training and encouragement. You can
entice your cat to use the wheel in di erent ways.
First of all: DO NOT place your cat on the wheel by yourself and
spin it as fast as possible. It will terrify your feline! Do not push
your cat beyond its comfort level. Praise, patience and
encouragement are a good start.
