15) Always keep:
- Accessible telephone at the poolside in order not to leave the children alone when you
are on the phone;
- Buoy and pole at the poolside.
16) Moreover some equipment can contribute to safety:
- Protective barrier with the gate always shut (for example a hedge cannot be considered
as a barrier);
- A manual or automatic protection cover properly installed and secured;
- An electronic detector of passage or fall, working and operational; But none of them
will replace a close supervision.
17) If an accident occurs:
- Take the child out of the pool promptly;
- Call immediately for assistance and follow the advises given to you;
- Replace wet clothes by hot blankets.
18) Memorize and keep the emergency call numbers at poolside:
- Fire brigade : (18 for France);
- Samu (ER) : (15 for France);
- Anti poison center.
19) Never put the swimming pool in the open air.
