SUPPORT HANDLE
The support handle can be fitted on the left or
right side of the gear housing. Fit the support
handle for the most convenient and safe way
of working.
NOTE:
It must be fitted to allow the correct
positioning of the guard.
GUARD
FIG. 2
1.
Put the guard over the pin on the centre
ring and tighten to the required position.
2.
Tighten the screw with a screwdriver to
keep the guard firmly in place.
GRINDING DISC
FIG. 3
1.
Check that the guard is correctly fitted.
2.
Put the inner flange on the spindle. Make
sure to properly align the two flat sides.
3.
Put the disc on the spindle and the inner
flange and check that it is properly in place.
4.
Screw the outer flange on the thread.
Check that the flange is fitted with the flat
side turned towards the disc.
5.
Keep the spindle lock button pressed in
so that the spindle cannot rotate and
tighten the outer flange with the supplied
spanner.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use the spindle lock button when the
spindle is rotating – this can damage the tool.
USE
•
Always check that the tool, the guard and
the grinding disc are in good condition
before use. When the disc comes into
contact with the workpiece this produces
a lot of sparks. The guard must be
positioned so that hot sparks are directed
away from the user.
•
For best results, hold the grinding disc at
an angle of 15-30° to the workpiece.
Move the tool smoothly backwards and
forwards, applying gentle pressure. This
will prevent ridges forming and stop the
workpiece from overheating or becoming
discoloured.
•
Run the angle grinder at a suitable speed
for the accessory in use.
•
Only use grinding discs with a recessed
centre, a diameter of 125 mm and a
maximum thickness of 6 mm.
NOTE:
•
Do not switch off the tool when pressure
is applied, this can damage the switch.
•
Do not block the openings on the angle
grinder – risk of overheating and
material damage.
STARTING/STOPPING
1.
Hold the tool firmly with one hand on
the motor casing and the other on the
support handle.
2.
The angle grinder has a start inhibitor to
prevent unintentional starting. Press the
start inhibitor and then press the power
switch to start the angle grinder.
3.
Stop the angle grinder by releasing the
power switch.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Switch off the angle grinder and pull out the
plug before maintenance.
•
The motor windings are the very core of a
power tool. Protect the windings from
damage, oil and water.
