Item-No. 61 59 10
Prescribed Use
The Universal-Thermostat „UT 200" is plugged in a wall mains socket and a connected consumer
(230V~/50Hz, max. 16A, 3680VA) can be switched on-off by temperature controlling. In the range of -40°C to
+99.9°C the switch on-off temperature can be set freely. The thermistor is located at the end of the approx.
2m long cables.
Usage other than described above will lead to damage of the product and may also involve additional risks
such as short circuits, fire, electrical shocks etc. The safety instructions and the information for handling in this

because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Be especially careful if
children are around. Use the product only out of reach of children.
Sockets can be fascinating for children. They can poke objects through the socket openings if
they are not supervised for a moment. An electric shock can be fatal! Therefore secure all
sockets in your flat with a special children's protective cap to protect your children.
• The product must not get damp or wet, it is intended only for use in dry, indoor locations (not
bathrooms or similarly damp areas). There is the danger of a lethal electric shock!
• During storage/operation, avoid the influence of strong heat (>50°C), cold (<0°C) or direct
sunlight on the Universal-Thermostat „UT 200".
The thermistor has an operational range of -40°C to +99°C, this is only applicable for the
„UT 200".
• The maximum installed power (230V~/50Hz, max. 16A, 3680VA) must not be exceeded.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for chil-
dren.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials have to be observed.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
Operation
a) Getting started
• Place the put down sensor aside at the provided measurement location or attach it to it, for example with a
cable tie.
The thermistor is not suitable for permanent operation in fluids!
• Plug the device with the power supply into a safety socket (230V~/50Hz) and connect the load (max. 16A /
3680 VA) to the socket of the „UT 200".
• After a short self-test the device will be in automatic-mode and the actual temperature at the sensor will be
indicated in the display.
b) Manual operation
• If you want to manually switch on and off the consumer, press the buttons „+" und „-" simultaneously to exit
the automatic-mode. „Manuell" will appear on the display.
• Now, you can manually switch on and off the consumer with the „Off/On"-button. The actual switching state
will be indicated on the display with „On" or „Off".
• Press the „+" or „-"-button to return to the automatic-mode. „Auto" will appear in the display.
c) Setting the on-off temperature switch
• An on-off temperature switch can be set for automatic operation, so the consumer will be switched on-off
when reaching it.
The set temperatures will also be preserved, when the „UT 200" wil be disconnected from the
mains voltage or at mains voltage failure.
• Check if the device is in automatic-mode („Auto" in the display).
• To adjust, first press the „Off/On"-button shortly.
• Set the switch on temperature with the "+" or "-" buttons. When pressing the actual button longer, the desired
value will be reached more rapidly.
• Press the „Off/On"-button again shortly.
• Set the switch off temperature with the "+" or "-" buttons.
• Press the „Off/On"-button again shortly.
• Now, the device returns into the operation mode.
• The actual temperature at the sensor will be indicated, depending on the chosen operation mode (see next
chapter) „Heating" or „Cooling" and the actual switching state („Off"/„On").
Select operation mode „Heating" or „Cooling".

a) Heating
• If the „UT 200" should perform in heating mode, then the switch off temperature needs to be a higher tem-
perature then the switch on temperature.
Version 01/09
Example:
°
• When the switch on temperature is lower, the heater will be switched on.
When the switch off temperature is exceeded, the heater will be switched off.
b) Cooling
• If the „UT 200" should perform in coolingmode, then the switch off temperature needs to be a lower tem-
perature then the switch on temperature.
Example:
• When the switch on temperature is exceeded, the cooler will be switched on.
When the switch off temperature is lower, the cooler will be switched off.
Handling
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require maintenance. Leave maintenance or repairs to a specialist/specialist workshop!
Unplug the Universal-Thermostat from the wall socket and disconnect possible plugged in consumers.
Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry and lint-free cloth.
Dust can be removed easily using a clean, long-hair brush and a vacuum cleaner.
After that, the thermistor can be cleaned with a soft, clean cloth which was dampened with lukewarm water.
