Operation and setting
1. Assemble the welding helmet as specified in the diagram
When using for the first time, please remove all protective film from the
cassette.
2. Power supply
Power supply is provided by solar power cells and lithium batteries. The
electronic circuit automatically regulates activation and deactivation.
Before the initial startup the pro-
tective foil in the battery compart-
ment has to be removed!
3. Testing the filter cassette
Press test key (1) before commencing with welding. Before welding, the
filter cassette is in darkening level 4 (DIN4), and the workpiece is visible.
The filter darkens immediately when the light arc is ignited.
TEST THE FILTER BEFORE IGNITING THE LIGHT ARC – PRESS THE
TEST KEY ON THE FILTER CASSETTE – DO NOT WELD IF THE FILTER
FAILS TO DARKEN.
3. Selection of darkening levels
The filter darkens immediately when the light arc is ignited. You should
now adjust the darkening button (4) as needed to achieve optimum
darkening (DIN9-13).
4. Selecting the delay after the transparency phase
The return to the transparency phase can be delayed by turning the delay
knob Delay (3) on the rear of the filter, adjustable between 01 and 0.8 sec.
Turn to MIN: The transparency phase returns after a brief delay. The
shortest return time is 0.1 sec., depending on the temperature and the
darkening level. This setting is ideal for joining work and short weld
seams.
Turn to MAX: The transparency phase returns after a longer delay. The
longest return time is 0.8 sec., depending on the temperature and the
darkening level. This setting is ideal for welding at high ampere levels,
after which the weld seam will continue to glow.
5. Sensitivity setting
The sensitivity to ambient light can be altered by adjusting the sensitivity
knob Sensitivity (2) on the rear of the filter.
Turn to MIN: Sensitivity is reduced, suitable for bright ambient light or
sunlight.
Turn to MAX: Sensitivity is increased, suitable for muted ambient light
and for WIG welding.
We recommend setting the sensitivity level higher for various standard
work procedures.

6. Automatic deactivation
The power supply deactivates automatically if the helmet is not used for
15 minutes. There is no off switch.
7. Grind mode
Turn the sensitivity knob clockwise to the position Grind in order to set
grind mode. The cassette is deactivated in this mode, and the protective
level remains stable at DIN4. In order to reactivate the anti-glare cassette,
return the knob to the desired sensitivity level.
Note! Do not weld in grind mode!

8. Head strap
Adjust the uppermost strap (5) to suit the size of your head. Depress
size adjustment button (6) and turn until the head strap is tight, but
without pressure.
9. Distance to the eyes and slant on the helmet
The distance between the cassette and the eyes and the slant on the
helmet can be adjusted by releasing the lock knobs (R+L). The two sides
should be adjusted equally and must not jam. Then tighten the locking
knobs once more.

Important instructions
1. Please ensure that the welding helm is used correctly and in accordance
with the relevant warning instructions.
2. Avoid heavy impact on the anti-glare cassette..
3. The outer visor should be cleaned regularly and replaced when damaged.
The outer visor must be fitted during welding. If these visors are missing,
it can lead to a safety risk and to irreparable damage to the filter cassette.
4. The correct darkening level must be selected in order to work effectively
and safely.
5. Prevent the anti-glare cassette from coming into contact with water!
6. Please ensure that the light arc radiation can be captured entirely by the
sensor, as the darkening may otherwise become unstable or may injure
the welder.
7. Only use the cassette within the temperature range of -5 to to 55°C!
Temperatures above or below this range may lead to incorrect darkening
and lightening.
Do not place the helmet or the anti-glare cassette on a hot surface.
8. Do not use tools or sharp objects to replace the cassette or helmet
components. This may impair the functions of the cassette and thus
invalidate the warranty.
9. Never take the anti-glare cassette to pieces, as this would invalidate the
warranty. If necessary, please contact your specialist dealer.
