Operating instructions 913 ASD
Application
The welding helmet 913ASD belongs to the new generation of work safety
products. Some of the new cutting edge technologies such as LCD, opto-
electronic detection, solar power and micro-electronics, among others, are
integrated within the technology found in the new cassette. The new helmet
not only provides effective protection of the welder's eyes against injury cau-
sed by light arcs, it also keeps both hands free for precise ignition of the
light arc. This can significantly enhance work performance and quality.
Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions before using the helmet. Check cor-
rect assembly of the front panel, the head strap and the anti-glare cassette.
If faults cannot be rectified, do not use the welding helmet.
Please ensure that the darkening level set is suitable for your
application.
These helmets and visors are NOT suitable for overhead welding, laser
welding, laser cutting or gas welding.
The welding helmet was designed to protect the eyes and the face
against weld spatter and sparks and against light beams under normal
circumstances while welding. The helmet does not offer any protection
against heavy mechanical damage, in particular against detached pieces
of grinding wheels. Never wear the helmet when grinding!
This helmet does NOT provide protection against explosive items or
caustic liquids! Protective clothing or protective goggles in accordance
with DIN/EN regulations must be worn when prescribed.
Avoid welding positions in which unprotected parts of your body can be
injured by weld spatter, sparks and direct or reflected beams. If this is
unavoidable, please wear suitable protection.
Each time before using the helmet, please check for absolute light
impermeability and make certain that the visor is clean and that the
sensors on the front of the cassette are not covered by dirt.
Each time before using the helmet, please check all components for
wear and damage. Each scratched, broken or damaged component
should be replaced immediately. Never use a DEFECT welding helmet!
Do not make any alterations to the cassette or to the helmet, unless
explicitly stated in these instructions. Do not use any spare parts other
than those recommended in these instructions. Unauthorised alterations
or spare parts invalidate the warranty and may cause injury to the user
of the welding helmet!
Please contact your specialist dealer immediately in the event that the
welding helmet fails to darken when the light arc is ignited!
Never immerse the anti-glare cassette in water.
Do not use any solvents on the cassette or the helmet.
The recommended operating temperature is between -5 and 55°C.
Do not use the welding helmet outside of the recommended operating
temperature.
Failure to adhere to these regulations and warnings can lead to serious
physical injury.
