2. Safety Instructions

• You should see a doctor if you have a temperature especially
a high temperature over a longer period ! Compare the
temperature you have taken using the measuring method
you selected with the values below .
The temperatures you have taken with the ear thermometer
are not a substitute for seeing a doctor .
• Your digital ear thermometer is not water resistant! Do not
dip the thermometer in any liquid without first pulling over
the protective sheath .
• Your ear thermometer may only be used for the purpose for
which it was intended . Safety instructions must be adhered
to at all times, especially where young children or babies are
involved .
• Protect your digital thermometer against the sun and store in a
dry and dust-free environment between 10° and 40° C (50° and
104°F) .
• Do not use the thermometer if the measuring tip or the unit
itself display even the slightest sign of damage . Do not on
any account attempt to repair the thermometer yourself!

• A collection of cerumen, commonly known as earwax, in the
ear canal may lead to false readings . Please make sure that
the ear canal of the person whose temperature you wish to
measure is clean and free of cerumen .
• Protect against knocks and bumps. Do not try to twist or
bend the thermometer or the measuring tip .
• In compliance with standards regarding safety-related
checks and metrological inspections, it is recommended that
the measuring device be subjected to a regular visual ins-
pection of the housing components for any signs of damage
and that the function of the keys and the measuring ac-
curacy (see operating instructions) be checked once a year
to ensure their correctness . The metrological inspection may
either be carried out by the manufacturer or a specially-
named or qualified testing centre .
