LED Status
GREEN
Solid
Cable/clamp polarity correct, the Lithium Jump Starter voltage is above
11V, and vehicle battery is above low limit threshold.
Note: If there is no attempt to start the vehicle within 2 minutes while the
Jump Starter is connected to the vehicle's battery: a) LED light will remain
GREEN; b) LED light will change to fast blinking AMBER (see below); c) or
the LED light will change to solid AMBER (see below)
GREEN
Blinking
The starting current is detected for a maximum of 3 seconds then enters a
60 second rest period with no current output allowed
GREEN
Fast blinking
After 5 consecutive jump-start attempts of 3 second cranks/60 second rest
cycle, there is no current output allowed
AMBER
Solid
The Lithium Jump Starter's voltage is lower than 11V charge/fewer than
3 LED Power Indicator Lights (3). Jump Start Protector Reset Button is
disabled and no current output allowed
AMBER
Fast blinking
Lithium Jump Starter voltage is above the required 11V (3 or more LED
Power Indicator Lights) and vehicle's battery is not detected. No current
output allowed.
Note: Clamps are not connected to vehicle battery's terminals or vehicle's
battery is below low limit threshold
AMBER/
Alternating
A 3 second vehicle battery 'system check' is being conducted after the
GREEN
blinking
Jump Start Protector Reset Button has been pressed while the Lithium
Jump Starter and clamps are connected correctly to the vehicle's battery
RED
Fast blinking
The Lithium Jump Starter's voltage is above the required 11V, the clamps/
cables are connected to the vehicle's battery terminals in the REVERSE
POLARITY, or a vehicle battery short has been detected. No current output
allowed and the Jump Start Protector Reset Button has been disabled
WARNING: If the Lithium Jump Starter becomes warm to the touch at any time, disconnect
the Lithium Jump Starter from the cables then allow to cool fully before re-attempting the
next jump start.
Maintenance
Note: The Lithium Jump Starter comes equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium polymer
battery. This battery is not consumer replaceable, and must be disposed of when the battery can no
longer hold charge. Correct charging practices will prolong the life of the battery.
Cleaning
• Keep your Lithium Jump Starter clean. Always clean dust/particles away
• Use a soft brush or dry cloth to clean the device
• Make sure that the positive and negative lead clamps are kept clean. Dirty electrical contacts will
severely impair the performance of this product
• A soft wire brush can be used to clean the clamps
• NEVER use water or alcohol-based cleaners to clean the device
• Charge the device fully at least once every 3–4 months if not used regularly to maintain the life
of the lithium polymer battery
Smart Jump Start Protector Unit
Condition Description
12V Lithium Power Bank & Jump Starter
Can now attempt to jump start the vehicle
The LED will indicate status after 60 seconds.
Note: If no attempt to jump start the vehicle was made, the cables have detected a heavy
load from the vehicle's system that indicates a damaged/defective vehicle battery or
vehicle system issue. The system issue must be resolved before using the Lithium Jump
Starter, and have the vehicle's battery tested and/or replaced
Press the Jump Start Protector Reset Button (14) to initiate another 5 jump-start cycle
attempts
Fully charge the Lithium Jump Starter before attempting to jump start the vehicle
Check for secure clamp connections to the vehicle battery's terminals. If the AMBER light
continues to blink fast, press the Jump Start Protector Reset Button for vehicle battery
'system check' .
Note: If the battery is below the low limit threshold, it may need to be recharged partly/
fully or replaced
Once the 'system check' is completed, the LED will return with a system status
confirmation. Refer to listed 'LED status' for the 'Condition description' and 'Action' in this
table for further information/actions
Disconnect High Current Connector Plug (12) from the Lithium Jump Starter and remove
clamps from the vehicle's battery terminals. Connect the clamps to the vehicle's battery
in the CORRECT POLARITY (positive/red-to-positive/red and negative/black-to-negative/
black) then reconnect the High Current Connector Plug to the Lithium Jump Starter
to reset.
Note: The source of this problem must be found and resolved before any more attempts
are made to jump start the vehicle using the Lithium Jump Starter
Storage
• Store fully charged. The unit will hold charge up to 1 year, but should always be charged before
the next use after being stored for a long period of time
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, cool, dry place (-10°–30°C / 14°–86°F) out of the reach
of children
• If storing in a moving vehicle, ensure that the unit, particularly the Lithium Polymer Battery Pack
(1), cannot move around freely
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer functional
and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) with
household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose
of power tools
