Cleaning the thermal jug
Over time coffee remainders and coffee oil residue may stain thermal jugs. They should
therefore be thoroughly cleaned regularly (at least every 4 weeks).
We recommend that you do this using BEEM premium cleaning tablets. They will remove the
residues quickly and easily. In addition, the cleaning tablets are gentle on the material and guaran-
tee food-safe and environmentally friendly cleaning - ensuring an authentic coffee fl avour. BEEM
premium cleaning tablets can be obtained from selected specialist stockists, directly via our website
www.beem.de or from our customer service department on request.
Cleaning with BEEM Premium cleaning tablets
1. Dissolve a BEEM Premium cleaning tablet in 60 – 70 °C of hot water.
2. Pour the solution into the thermal jug (6).
3. Lock the thermal jug and move it so that the entire interior is moistened with the cleaning
solution.
4. Give the cleaning solution a few minutes to work.
5. Empty out the cleaning solution, and thoroughly rinse the thermal jug several times.
Attention! BEEM Premium cleaning tablets have no descaling properties!
Changing the Activated Carbon Filter (Picture D)
The water tank (13) contains an activated carbon fi lter (7) that is intended to protect the device
from limescale deposits. This activated carbon fi lter should be replaced after around 70 brew-
ing processes or during descaling (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter – "Descaling").
1. Flip open the water tank lid (11).
2. Remove the holder for the activated carbon fi lter (8) from the water tank.
3. Open up the fl ap on the holder and remove the old activated carbon fi lter.
4. Clean the holder for the activated carbon fi lter if necessary.
5. Take a new activated carbon fi lter out of its packaging and rinse it thoroughly under running
water to remove any possible production residues.
6. Place the new activated carbon fi lter into the holder and then close the fl ap again.
7. Insert the holder for the activated carbon fi lter back into the recess provided for it in the
water tank.
