THE HANDLING AND USAGE OF ELECTRIC TOOLS
INVOLVES CERTAIN RISKS.
If the normal safety precautions are overlooked or
ignored, the operator could suffer serious personal
injury.
Read this instruction manual carefully before
using the band saw, in order to be aware of the
applications and limitations of the band saw as well
as its specific risks before using the band saw. Take
the safety regulations and warnings into account.
1.1 WORK AREA
1. KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE and in working order.
2. GROUND ALL ELECTRIC TOOLS. If an electric tool
is fitted with a three-pin plug, it should always be
plugged into a suitable power outlet. Never remove
the third pin.
3. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN. Cluttered areas and
benches invite accidents.
4. DO NOT USE ELECTRIC TOOLS IN HAZARDOUS
ENVIRONMENTS. Do not use power tools in damp or
wet locations, or expose them to rain. Keep work area
well illuminated.
5. KEEP CHILDREN AND VISITORS AWAY. All children
and visitors should be kept at a safe distance from the
work area.
6. MAKE WORKSHOP CHILDPROOF
(by means of padlocks, master switches, or by
removing starter keys).
1.2 PERSONAL SAFETY
1. REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES. Make
a habit of checking to see that electric tools keys and
adjusting wrenches are removed before switching the
tools on ("ON" position).
2. WEAR PROPER APPAREL. Do not wear loose
clothing, gloves, ties, rings, bracelets, or other jewellery
that could get caught in the moving parts. Non-slip
footwear is recommended. Wear protective hair
covering to contain long hair.

3. ALWAYS USE SAFETY GLASSES. Also use face
or dust mask if cutting operation is dusty. Everyday
eyeglasses only have impact-resistant lenses; they are
NOT safety glasses.
4. Do not OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
5. DO NOT OPERATE ELECTRIC TOOLS if you are
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any
medication.
1.3 USE AND CARE OF THE ELECTRIC
TOOLS
1. DO NOT FORCE ELECTRIC TOOLS. It will do the
job better and be safer at the rate for which it was
designed.
2. USE THE APPROPRIATE ELECTRIC TOOL. Do not
force the electric tools or attachments to do jobs for
which they were not designed.
3. SECURE WORK. Use clamps or a bench lathe to hold
the piece to be cut when appropriate. It is safer than
using your hand and it frees up both your hands to
operate the electric tool.
4. MAINTAIN THE ELECTRIC TOOLS IN OPTIMAL
OPERATING CONDITION. Keep the electric tools
sharp and clean in order to ensure the best and
safest operating performance. Follow instructions for
lubricating and changing accessories.
5. DISCONNECT ELECTRIC TOOLS before servicing and
when changing accessories such as cutting blades, bits,
cutters, etc.
6. USE RECOMMENDED ACCESSORIES. Consult the
owner's manual for recommended accessories. The use
of improper accessories may cause hazards.
7. AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING. Make sure switch is
in "Off" position before plugging in power cord.
8. NEVER STAND ON AN ELECTRIC TOOL. Serious
injury could occur if the electric tool is tilted or if
contact is accidentally made with the cutting edge.
