5.2.3 Function Range Depending On Configuration
Depending on the desired functional range, the sensor can be
configured with additional information to use the corres-
ponding functions. The table shown here contains a list of the
necessary sensor configurations for the respective functional
range. For information about configuring the sensor, please
refer to the detailed operating instructions (download from
www.buehler-technologies.com).
Configurations necessary for function range
Function range/scenario
• Basic parameters: Tem-
perature, humidity, P, C,
P40, C40
• Average temperature,
load factor since start-
ing sensor
• Short-term gradients
• Water content alarms,
"Oil level low"
• High temperature
alarms
• Detect contamination
with other oils/fluids
• Long-term gradients
• Aging progress of char-
acteristics (P40 and C40)
• Alarms for aging pro-
gress of limits
• Predicted oil "Remain-
ing Useful Lifetime"

6 Maintenance
Always observe the applicable safety and operating regula-
tions when performing any type of maintenance. For informa-
tion about maintenance, please refer to the original operating
instructions on our website at www.buehler-technolo-
gies.com.

Action
First check the electrical
connection of the sensor
and verify the data and
power cable are properly
connected. Please note the
prescribed pint assign-
ment.
Please operate the sensor
within a range between
9 V and 33 V DC.
Check and if necessary
correct the interface para-
meter settings (e.g. 9600,
8.1, N, N). Test communic-
ation with a terminal pro-
gram, if necessary with an
interface tester.
Check and if necessary
correct the selected com-
munication port (e.g.
COM1).
Check the syntax of the
sensor commands. Partic-
ularly note capitalisation.
If the commands are in-
valid, the sensor will re-
turn the string with a
question mark in front of
it.
If possible, use original
data cables
Temporarily or perman-
ently enable the RS232
port with CMSensorConfig
or a terminal program as
described in chapter Oper-
ation and Control.
Verify the sensor is in-
stalled properly per the in-
stallation instructions.
