3. Additional
requirements of
panic exit devices
if they are used on
smoke control/fire
protection doors
If a door closer is installed to move the door to the closed position again, make sure
that the operation of the door by children and elderly as well as frail people is not
impeded.
The provided locking counterpieces (striking plates) or panelling must be installed in
order to ensure compliance with DIN EN 179.
A sticker with the inscription "Operate lever handle to open" or a pictogram should
be placed on the inside of the door immediately above the operating device or on
the operating device itself (see sample below).
With panic exit devices type "B" (DT 400) intended for use on emergency exit doors
opening inwards, a sticker with the inscription "Pull lever handle to open" or a
pictogram should be placed on the inside of the door immediately above the pull
plate. The surface of the pictogram should be at least 8,000 mm² and the colours
white on a green background.
NOTE
Project planning may only be carried out by Dialock specialists.
Door fittings for fire resistant and smoke control doors, e.g. the DT 400 door
terminal must be approved by the door manufacturer. If the terminal is installed
without this approval, the Fire and Smoke Control Certificate for the fire
resistant or smoke control door will be invalidated.
Restriction of intended use of the DT 400 with DIN EN 179:
• only for single doors
• escape direction for inward and outward opening doors
• version for rebated door
The max. permissible door weight is 200 kg.
The max. permissible deformation of the door leaf to the rebate is 3 mm.
In accordance with EN 1634-1 test report No. DMT-DO-50-229-002 the resistance
time of a single-leaf door construction approx. 65 mm thick made from wood and
wooden materials with thermal insulation EI1 and EI2 is 103 minutes.
The safety features of this product are an essential requirement for its compliance
with DIN EN 179.
No modifications must be made, unless they are described in the instructions.
WARNING
Risk of fatality due to unsealed hole
With fire resistant doors, the hole of the profile cylinder must be sealed so that no
flames can penetrate through and spread to other rooms.
> Only a profile cylinder for emergency opening or a blind cylinder with fire
protection approval must be used.
