Our machines are manufactured from anodised aluminium alloy providing high resistance to acids, to salts and to
oxidation.
Their quickly and easily replaceable driving belts feature perfect noiselessness and long service life.
Service life closely depends on compliance to the instructions for use and to the maintenance directions explained
below.
1) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Position the slicer unit so that switch (1) is in front of the operator. Ensure that mains voltage corresponding.
2. Position the product to be sliced on the guide tray (3). Keep firm by using the special toothed (4) stopping slab.
3. Connect machine to mains and press the switch button. A red light will warn that the blade is rotating.
4. Select desired thickness by setting the graduated knob (2) near the switch between 0 and 15.
5. Push the guide tray gently towards the blade while exerting a gentle pressure against the thickness regulator
plate (5). The blade will easily cut the product while the deflector will separate the slice that will fall on the slice
plate (6).
6. Avoid dry-running the slicing unit.
7. To avoid overheating the motor, the maximum continuous use must not exceed 15 minutes. Resume operating
the slicer after a suitable pause.
8. Handle sharp edges carefully when cleaning the machine.
2) MAINTENANCE
1. Before cleaning the machine always set the thickness governor (5) to zero by turning the relevant knob (2)
behind the blade and disconnect the unit from the mains.
2. Regularly remove the blade shield (7) for cleaning. To do this unscrew the know situated behind the blade
(9). Clean both blade and shield carefully with a cloth dampened with hot water or with denatured alcohol. We
suggest putting some drops of oil in the hole at the centre of the blade.
3. The guide tray (3) can be easily dismounted by loosening screw (8) underneath and by drawing the group
outside, thus allowing to clean it perfectly.
4. From time to time, lift the slicer to put some drops of oil (non-edible) on the round bar on which the carriage runs.
Unusual noise after some time may mean that the belts are bedding, which requires to tighten the belt tightener
(10) situated on the side of the motor.
3) SHARPENING THE BLADE (MODELS wITH SEPARATE BLADE SHARPENER)
The blade must be regularly sharpened or as soon as cutting edge is no more sharp, as follows:
1. Carefully clean the blade with denatured alcohol to degrease it after disconnecting the unit from the mains.
2. Turn the graduated knob (2) left to maximum opening.
3. Take the sharpener out from the bag, unloosen its knurled knob (11) and introduce the threaded metallic pin in
the special hole situated on the product plate so that both grinding wheels are turned towards the blade. To do
this easily, press button (12) on the lower wheel. About half of the lower wheel must be inserted between the
blade on which it will rest and the thickness governor plate.
4. Connect the mains, switch on the machine (1) while keeping the product tray (3) firm and the sharpener in the
position as described above through wheel (8) situated under the plate.
5. Turn the blade for about 30 to 40 seconds, then press switch (1) to stop the blade while by lightly passing the
finger against the external part of the blade to check for any featheredge.
We recommend to carry out this operation very carefully, as this element is very sharp. In the case a
featheredge has formed, press again switch (1) to turn the blade for another 3 or 4 seconds while pressing
button (13) of the upper wheel at the same time. This will remove the featheredge and provide a perfectly
sharpened blade.
Do not snag any further as this would warp the blade edge.
6. After sharpening, clean the wheels with a brush dampened with alcohol.
7. Once sharpening is completed, unscrew the sharpener and put it again it its box.
