5.1.3 Charging the battery

Make sure that the outer surfaces of the battery are clean and dry before
inserting the battery in the approved battery charger.
Read the operating instructions for the charger for further information
about the charging process.
▶ Use an approved charger to charge the battery.
5.1.4 Fitting the side handle
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Loss of control over the rotary hammer drill.
▶ Check that the side handle is fitted correctly and tightened securely.
Check that the clamping band is engaged in the groove in the tool.
1. Release the side handle clamping band by turning the handle grip.
2. Slide the side handle clamping band over the chuck from the front and
into the recess provided.
3. Set the side handle to the desired position.
4. Tighten the side handle clamping band by turning the handle grip.
5.1.5 Adjusting the depth gauge (optional)
1. Press the release button on the side handle.
2. Adjust the depth gauge to the desired drilling depth.
3. Release the release button.
4. Check that the side handle is securely attached.
5.1.6 Removing the chuck
CAUTION
Risk of injury. The depth gauge, if fitted but not used, might hinder the
operator.
▶ Remove the depth gauge from the product.
Set the function selector switch to the
changing the chuck.
1. Remove the battery from the tool.
2. Grip the chuck as shown in the illustration and pull the three chuck release
rings upwards.
3. Lift the chuck upwards away from the tool.
5.1.7 Fitting the chuck
CAUTION
Risk of injury. The depth gauge, if fitted but not used, might hinder the
operator.
▶ Remove the depth gauge from the product.
