ITEM NO.: 1209163
INTENDED USE
The universal measuring station integrates frequency counter, waveform generator, power
supply unit and digital multimeter in one single device.
The device must only be connected to and operated by an isolated ground receptacle of the
public AC network (230 V or 115 V).
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves
the risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
The product must not be changed or modified in any way. Do not open the housing.
Operation in damp rooms, outdoor locations or under adverse ambient conditions is not
permitted.
Adverse ambient conditions include:
- Excessive dampness or humidity,
- Dust or combustible gases, vapours or solvents,
- Thunderstorms or stormy conditions as strong electrostatic fields, etc.
Always observe the safety notes included in these operating instructions.
This quick guide explains safety measures to make working with the device as safe as
possible. The individual functions of the device are described in detail in the enclosed
operating manual.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If
you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be
damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric
shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third
parties only together with its operating instructions.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information
on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the
warranty/guarantee.
a) Persons / Product
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• This is a protection class 1 product. Only use a proper, earthed mains socket of
the public power supply as a voltage source.
• Devices operated using the mains voltage must be kept out of the reach of
children.Particular care must therefore be exercised if children are around.
• When multiple outputs are combined, perilous voltages can be generated. Only
use contact-protected safety measuring lines for voltages of >42 V/AC or >60 V/
DC.
• Take particular care when dealing with voltages exceeding 25V AC or 35V DC!
Even at these voltages it is possible to get a fatal electric shock if you touch
electrical conductors.
• The power supply will heat up during operation. Ensure appropriate ventilation.
Do not cover the ventilation slots of the device!
• Never cover the device during operation.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible
• Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it
from the mains socket using the intended grips.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an
extended period of time.
• Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket in thunderstorms for reasons
VERSION 12/14
of safety.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges
or put under mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains
cable from extreme heat or cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the
mains cable may be damaged. A damaged mains cable can cause a deadly
electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged. First, power down the respective
mains socket (e.g. via the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the
mains plug from the mains socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is
damaged.
• If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by one of identical construction
only.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• Power supply units and connected loads must not be operated unattended.
• Only use fuses of the type and rated current specified. It is absolutely forbidden to
use repaired fuses.
• Avoid the use of uninsulated metallic cables. There is the danger of short circuit
or fire.
• Do not use the device shortly before, during or shortly after a thunderstorm
(lightning! / high energy over voltage). Make sure your hands, shoes, clothes, the
floor and test leads, circuits as well as circuit parts etc. are absolutely dry.
• Do not use the product within rooms or in bad ambient conditions where
flammable gases, vapours or dust may be present or are present.
• Avoid operation in the immediate vicinity of:
- strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields
- transmitting aerials or HF generators.
- This can affect the control.
• Only use measuring lines or equipment aligned with the specifications of this
device. Overvoltages pose the danger of fire.
• Check the device and its test leads for damage before each use. Never conduct
measurements if the protective insulation is damaged (torn, missing, etc.).
• To prevent electric shock, make sure not to touch the connections/measuring
points to be measured directly or indirectly during measurement.
• When measuring, never reach beyond the tangible marking of the grip area on the
probe. There is a risk of lethal electric shock!
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible,
disconnect the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. It
can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device shows visible damage,
- it does not function any longer and
- after it was stored under unfavourable conditions over a period of time or
- after it was exposed to heavy stress during transport.
• Never switch the device on immediately after taking it from a cold to a warm room.
The condensation generated could cause serious damage to the device. Allow the
device to reach room temperature before switching it on.
• Never disassemble the product! There is a risk of a fatal electric shock!
Capacitors inside the device may still be charged, even if the device has been
disconnected from all voltage sources.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around unattended. It can become a
dangerous toy for children.
• The product is only suited for dry indoor use (not in bathrooms or similar damp
interiors). The device must not get damp or wet. There is a risk of a fatal electric
shock!
• In industrial facilities, the safety regulations laid down by the professional trade
association for electrical equipment and facilities must be adhered to.
• In schools and training facilities, home and do-it-yourself workshops, handling of
the product must be supervised responsibly by qualified staff.
• The product is not approved for use on humans or animals.
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged through impact, blows, or by
being dropped even from a low height.
• Also observe the provided detailed operating instructions as well as the safety
notes in the operating instructions of the connected devices.
