The body of the intake manifold module is made
of polyamide and consists of two shells which are
plastic-welded together.
The intake manifold fl aps are trough shaped. Through
this shape and their arrangement in the intake port,
the intake airfl ow is improved when the fl aps are
open. An improvement in tumble capacity is also
achieved when closing the fl aps.
The intake manifold fl aps are adjusted by a vacuum
motor. The motor uses a two stage process.

Air Intake System
Feedback about the fl ap position is provided by
Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor G336. When
the engine is not running, the intake manifold fl aps
are closed.
Blow-by gases and vapor from the charcoal canister
vent directly into the airfl ow downstream of the
throttle valve assembly.
