5.6 FOLDING MECHANISM

If you wish to operate the folding mechanism, always hold
the U-shaped bracket or the bicycles with one hand to ensure
that the rack is not able to fold out suddenly. (Risk of injury)
To open the car boot, you may fold the rack down, even if bicycles are
mounted.
With one hand, push down on the unlocking lever of the folding mechanism
(Figure 17), with the other hand, hold the bicycles or the U-shaped bracket.
After unlocking, fold the bicycle rack down carefully.
When folding up, make sure that the mechanism is free and nothing is trap-
ped in it. Make sure that the folding mechanism is fully engaged before
driving o .

5.7 FOLDING UP THE BICYCLE RACK

First fold the wheel rails back onto the rack table. Push the locking mecha-
nism of the rear lights (Position 1 in Figure 18) outwards, and then swivel
the light mount back (Position 2 in Figure 18). Push it rmly against the rack
table until it engages perceptibly. Proceed accordingly on the other side of
the rack.

In order to store the bicycle rack as atly as possible, you can also fold
the U-shaped bracket down. To do this, undo the two knob nuts until the
U-shaped bracket comes out of the locking mechanism. Now you can fold
the U-shaped bracket down onto the rack table.
