Operating switch I =On /0 = Off
Regularly check the technical safety of the instrument and measuring lines,
e.g. check for damage to the housing or squeezing etc.
Never operate the device when it is open!
!RISK OF FATAL INJURY!
Do not exceed the maximum permitted input values. Never touch circuits
or parts of circuits with voltages of more than 25 V/ACrms or 35 V/DC! Mortal
danger!
Unpacking
Check all parts for completeness and damage after unpacking.
Damaged parts must not be used for safety reasons. In case of any damage
contact our customer service.
Unit installation
Set up the device using the handle or the device's pedastal to operate and read out the device
comfortably.
In order to comply with the technical tolerance data the device has to be oper-
ating for about 30 minutes within the given operating temperature range.
Ensure sufficient ventilation of the device. Do not cover or seal the ventilation
apertures of the device!
Start-up
Make sure that the back selector switch for the mains voltage corresponds with your electricity
network. The switch position can be observed by the imprint. In Europe you must uncondition-
ally use the setting "230 V".
Connect the provided mains cable to the mains connector at the back of the device and connect
the Schuko plug to an earthed mains socket.
Swich on the device with the power switch (POWER I/0).
After a short initialization period the device is ready-for-operation.
Connect the measuring lines to the connectors "Input". The red connector "V" corresponds with
the positive pole for the voltage and resistance measurement; the black connector is the nega-
tive pole.
Use the red connector "A" and the black connector for current measurements.
Select the corresponding measuring function and connect the measuring probes to the measur-
ing circuit.
For safety reasons the indicated maximum measurement voltage must not be
exceeded.
Remove the probe from the object after finishing the measuring, and turn off the appliance.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning the device:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are removed
(unless this can be done without tools).
Prior to cleaning or repairing the device, all lines have to be detached and the
device must be turned off.
Always replace defective micro-fuses with new ones of the indicated type and
rated amperage. Using repaired fuses or bypassing the fuse carrier is not per-
mitted due to safety reasons.
Do not use abrasive, chemical or aggressive cleaning agents such as benzine, alcohol or such-
like. The surface of the device could be corroded. Furthermore, the fumes are hazardous to your
health, and are explosive. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or met-
al brushes or similar for cleaning.
For cleaning the device or the display and the measuring lines, use a clean, lint-free, antistatic
slightly damp cloth.
