General warnings

General safety warnings

• WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric shock, fire,
serious injury and/or death.
• Use the gas tool and accessories in accordance with
these instructions, taking into account the working
conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the
gas tool for operations different from those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating the gas tool. Do
not use the gas tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while operating the gas tool
may result in serious personal injury.
• The risks to others shall be assessed by the
operator.
• Use CE-marked eye protection with front
and side protection against flying objects
when handling, operating, and servicing the gas
tool.
• Use CE-marked ear protection near or at
the job site to prevent hearing damage.
Unprotected exposure to high noise levels can
cause permanent, disabling, hearing loss and
other problems such as tinnitus (ringing, buzzing,
whistling or humming in the ears). Appropriate
controls to reduce the risk may include actions
such as damping materials to prevent workpieces
from "ringing".
• It is recommended to wear CE-marked head
protection at the job site.
• It is employer's responsibility to enforce gas tool
users and all other nearby personnel at the job site
to wear personal protective equipment such as eye
protection, dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard
hat and/or hearing protection.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts to avoid serious injuries. Only
wear gloves that provide adequate feel and safe
control of trigger and any adjusting devices. Wear
warm clothing when working in cold conditions, to
keep your hands warm and dry.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and bal-
ance at all times. This enables better control of the
gas tool in unexpected situations.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Do not carry the
gas tool with your finger on the trigger.
• Respect the gas tool as a working implement.
• Do not engage in horseplay.
• Remove any adjusting keys or wrenches before
using the gas tool. A wrench or a key left attached
to a moving part of the gas tool may result in per-
sonal injury.
• The gas tool is not designed to be used in
explosive atmosphere such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. The design of the
gas tool will generate sparks and the exhaust will
also cause possible danger to ignite highly flam-
mable fuel or gas. Do not use the gas tool in this
kind of environment. Do not smoke while using or
handling the gas tool and/or fuel cell.
• Ensure combustible materials are not exposed to
hot exhaust gases.
• Handle the gas tool with care, as it can get hot,
affecting grip and control.
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or
dark areas invite to accidents.
• The gas tool needs to be used in well ventilated
areas. Do not inhale the exhaust, fume or gas as it
is potentially dangerous to the human body.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected
from the battery and/or fuel cell; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If
liquid get in contact with eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery and/
or fuel cell may cause irritation or burns.
• A small release of gas might be generated by
regular operations.
• Do not use the gas tool if it is not in proper working
condition.
• Inspect the gas tool before operating to determine
that the gas tool is in proper working order. Check
for misalignment or binding of moving parts and
any other condition that may affect the operation.
Do not operate if any of the above mentioned
conditions occur as it can cause malfunction.
• When leaving the gas tool in resting position use
the belt/raftering hook or place it on the tool front
or side. Do not leave it resting with the nose piece
pointing towards the operator or anyone nearby.
