The two recesses allow you to set the tube longer or shorter,
depending on the length desired. Ensure the lower tube is securely
attached.
Adjusting harness
1. Place the shoulder straps (L) over your shoulders.
2. Pull the adjustment straps (M) down until the backplate (N) is firm
against your back.
3. Snap the buckle (P) together and adjust so it fits firmly across your
chest as shown in figure 8.

Adjusting joystick
1. Slide the joystick (A) up and down the tube until it is in a
comfortable use position as shown in figure 9.
2. Tighten the wingnut (Z) until the joystick is held firmly in position.
Do not overtighten. Overtightening the joystick could result in
damage to the tool.
3. Secure the cable (K) by pushing it into the cable clip (AA) located
on the tube clamp with cable clip (J) as shown in figure 10.

The DCBL590 operates on a 40V Max DeWALT battery pack. The
DCB404 and DCB406 battery packs may be used. These battery
packs should be charged only with the following chargers: DCB114.
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack
(Fig. 2, 11, 12)
WARNING:
make certain the battery-selection switch is in the center, "OFF"
position to prevent switch actuation.
To install battery pack: Insert battery pack (S) into battery port (Q)
as shown in Figure 11 until fully seated and an audible click is heard.
Make sure battery pack is fully seated and fully latched into position.
To remove battery pack: Depress the battery-release button (R) on
the top of the battery port and pull battery pack out of appliance as
shown in Figure 12.
