Witter VW82U Instructions De Montage

MATERIALS
A 1 Main crossbar.
B 1 L/H Sidearm.
C 1 R/H Sidearm.
D 2 M12 x 40 x 1.75 bolt, lock washer flat washer and Cage nut assembles.
E 4 M12 x 40 x 1.75 bolt, lock washer flat washer and Nyloc nuts.
F 2 M12 x 40 x 1.75 bolt, lock washer flat washers and Nyloc nuts.
ZN 1 Neck option
For use with either
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball, which
dimensionally conforms to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
1. FITTING
2. Remove tail lights (plastic screw and socket in trunk room).
3. Demount underbody covering plate. Release bumper fixing clips / screws from bottom edge of bumper and
from wheel arches. Disconnect possible wiring inside bumper. Release bumper from vehicle.
4. Remove crash beam from rear panel of vehicle (will not be refitted), mount fixing screws back to vehicle.
5. Demount rearmost silencer securing bracket and release fixings on left edge of exhaust heat shield
(To access fitting points on left vehicle side frame).
6. Remove adhesive tapes covering towbar mounting holes on outsides of vehicle chassis frames.
7. Insert side parts left (B) and right (C) into vehicle side frames. Mount side parts loosely in holes using fixings
(D) & (F).
8. Mount cross beam (A) to sidearms (B) and (C) using correct fixings (E).
9. Align parts and tighten all fixings carefully to the right torque..
10. Cut rear bumper to suit electrical plate for towbar (larger cut for retractable option)
11. Refit bumper to vehicle.
12. Align parts and tighten all screws/nuts to the correct torque (see table).
13. Re-install vehicle in reverse order.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm,
M16 - 200 Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
