1. Stop the battery charging process by pressing
the STOP button on the battery charger control
panel.
The charging process can be resumed by
pressing the STOP button again.
2. While stopped disconnect the battery charger
from the battery.
Parameter settings
Caution
Incorrect charging parameters can damage the
battery.
Always check the charging parameters prior to
start of charging.
Check parameters for BMS
controlled charging
Note:
When the battery charger is configured for BMS
control, the charging parameters cannot be
adjusted on the battery charger control panel.
Control panel display, main window:
1. Press OK.
2. Go to [Service] using arrow down.
3. Press OK.
4. Go to [CAN] using arrow down.
5. Press OK.
The present settings for CAN are shown.
6. Check that [Function] is set to BMS Ctrl, i.e.
BMS controlled charging is activated. If the
[Function] is set to Disabled this means that
charging of lead-acid batteries is activated.
7. Check that [Node ID] is set to the CAN-ID given
by the battery manufacturer.
Check charging parameters
Control panel display, main window:
1. Press OK.
2. Go to [Service] using arrow down.
3. Press OK.
4. Go to [Charging param] using arrow down.
5. Press OK.

The charging parameters are now shown.
[Source]
Source of the charging parameters. BMU for
battery monitoring unit parameters and User
def for parameters shown in the display.
[Curve]
Present charging curve.
[Capacity]
Battery capacity in ampere hours.
[Cells]
Number of 2 V battery cells.
[Cable Ri (mΩ)]
Cable resistance in battery harness.
[Base load (mA)]
Electrical loads on the battery present during
charging.
[Battery temperature (°C/ °F)]
Static battery temperature used for
temperature controlled charging.
Edit charging parameters
Note:
An access code is required to edit the parameter
settings. Factory default code is 2451.
1. Select the parameter to edit according to the
instructions above.
2. Press OK.
3. Enter the access code.
4. Press OK.
5. Select parameter to edit using arrow down or
arrow up.
6. Edit value using arrow left or arrow right.
7. Press OK.
8. When all parameters are edited press ESC
until the main window of the control panel
display is shown.
Statistics
During charging, measured values and events are
stored for service purposes. This information is
available through the control panel display or
Access™ Service tool.
