Replacing the sealing strip

1. Figs 16 and 17:
Move the power bridge (5) to the rear end position (movable bearing).
2. Pulling them upwards, remove the set screws (3) on the fixed bearing housing and on
the movable bearing housing.
3. Pull the old sealing strip (4) with the clamping plate (6) from the fixed bearing housing
towards the movable bearing until it is about 20 cm in front of the power bridge.
(Caution: Do not pull it through the power bridge.)
When pulling the clamping plates out of the fixed bearing housing and the cover plate,
ensure that they do not fall into the tube section.
4. Loosen the old sealing strip (4) between the fixed bearing and the power bridge from the
tube section and clean the grease off the upper side.
5. Push the two ends of the new sealing strip (2) and the old sealing strip together between
the power bridge and the fixed bearing and join the ends together using adhesive tape
(1) on the top.
6. Snap the old and new sealing strips into the tube section and move the power bridge (by
hand if possible) towards the fixed bearing until approx. 20 cm of the new sealing strip is
visible on the other side of the power bridge.
7. Remove the old sealing strip and the adhesive tape from the new sealing strip and
discard them in an environmentally suitable way.
8. Secure the new sealing strip in the fixed bearing housing using the clamping plate and
set screws.
9. Pull the new sealing strip from the movable bearing end so far that the complete sealing
strip lies on tube section.
10. Snap the sealing strip by hand into the tube section beginning on the fixed bearing side.
11. Leaving at least 6-7 mm to spare, cut off the sealing strip.
12. Push the end of the sealing strip on the movable bearing side into and through the cover
plate and clip it into the tube section beginning at the power bridge.
13. Secure the sealing strip in the cover plate using the clamping plate and set screws.
