Connecting and starting up the gateway
Further configuration of the gateway is carried out via the "Smart Life – Smart Living" app.
Observe the operating instructions for the app.
Operating and mounting the radiator thermostat
a) Inserting the batteries
• Slide the battery compartment cover on the underside of the radiator thermostat out in the
direction of the valve drive (B1).
• Insert two AA/Mignon batteries with the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-, see
imprint next to the battery compartment).
• Close the battery compartment again.
b) Setting the date and time
After inserting the batteries, the first thing you need to do is to set the current date and time.
Wait until the system starts up. The date and time can also be set while the motor is moving the
valve drive to the installation position.
• The year is shown on the display (B5). Set the correct year with the rotary knob (B10) and
press the confirmation button (B8).
• The month is shown on the display (B5) (set with the rotary knob (B10) and press the con-
firmation button (B8)).
• The day is shown on the display (B5) (set with the rotary knob (B10) and press the confir-
mation button (B8)).
• The hours are shown on the display (B5) (set with the rotary knob (B10) and press the
confirmation button (B8)).
• The minutes are shown on the display (B5) (set with the rotary knob (B10) and press the
confirmation button (B8)).
After you have finished setting the date and time, "InS" may appear on the display with alterna-
ting "п" and "П" if the motor is still running.
Wait until "AdA" appears on the display, then the radiator thermostat is ready for installation.
c) Mounting the radiator thermostat
When mounting the radiator thermostat, the hot water circuit remains closed. So there is no
need to drain the water in the heater.
• First turn the old thermostat all the way up (full heat output).
• Detach the old thermostat from the radiator. You may need pipe tongs depending on how tight
it sits (e.g. covered with paint).
Do not exert any force!
• You may need one of the supplied adapters depending on the radiator valve.
No adapter is required for Heimeier, Junkers Landys+Gyr, MNG, Honeywell and Braukmann
(thread size M30 x 1.5 mm).
Danfoss RAV (supplied pin must be attached
to the radiator valve tappet)
Danfoss RA
Danfoss RAVL
• If an adapter is required, mount it on the ra-
diator valve (a small plastic pin must then be
attached to the valve pin depending on the
adapter).
During mounting, ensure that the pins inside
the adapter (lower arrow in the picture) are
aligned with the notches on the valve (upper
arrow). Make sure the adapter clicks properly
into place.
