3.1 Connecting the generator

Ensure that the packing bolt is removed from the compressor
mounting assembly prior to powering up the generator.
Failure to do this will cause irreparable damage to the generator
and will invalidate the warranty

3.1.1 General

Refer to "Recommended system layout" on page 8 for the desired system configuration.
Fit ball valves to the compressed air inlet port (non compressor versions only) and the N2 outlet port of the generator to allow it to be
isolated during servicing.
A 3 way ball valve should be fitted to the inlet port of the application instrument to allow the system to be purged correctly during
commissioning or following a service.
All components used within the system must be rated to at least the maximum operating pressure of the equipment.
Always protect the system by installing suitably rated pressure relief valves.
Only use instrument grade B280 copper or stainless steel tubing within the system. Do not use nylon or FEP tubing.
When cutting tubes always use the correct tools to allow a clean perpendicular cut. Cutting tubes will cause debris that, if not removed,
may damage the downstream instrumentation. It is recommended that all pipes are purged to remove any debris that may exist.
Ensure that all tubes are adequately supported to prevent damage and leaks in the system.
A minimum bend radius of four times the outside diameter of the tube is required when bending tubes.
The length of tubes should allow the generator to be moved during servicing.

3.1.2 System Piping

The following ports are available on this generator:
Compressed Air Inlet Port (non-compressor version only)
A
Generators that do not have an integral compressor require a clean dry compressed air supply (ISO 8573-1:2010 class 3.2.1).
MIN 9.0 BAR
MAX 9.9 BAR
Outlet Ports
There are two nitrogen outlet ports available on this generator,
The flow of nitrogen from this port is controlled by the integral Mass Flow Control device (MFC). The bypass valve
N
should be positioned as shown to direct the flow to this port.
2
The flow of nitrogen from this port is not controlled by the generator. This port should only be used if a secondary MFC
N
is installed in the system. The bypass valve should be positioned as shown to direct the flow to this port.
2
Note. In order to purge the system during commissioning, the system piping must be connected to the N2 MFC port. Ensure that the installation
allows the port connections to be swapped over after commissioning if required.
Drain Port
DRAIN
The moisture removed from the compressed air is exhausted from the generator via the drain port.
