Suspension point for personal fall protection of a single person

• During mounting, a distance to other suspension points of ≥ Scr = 410 mm
must be maintained (image right) to guarantee the full load capacity
of the cable loop. To an open slab edge, a distance of ≥ Ccr = 205 mm
to each must be maintained.
• The HBL should never come in contact with corrosive substances like
chlorine or lactic acid.
• The concrete ceiling should always have a minimum thickness of 150 mm.
• No changes should be made to the HBS.
• Periodic inspections according to Point 3 should always be adhered to.
• The suspension point may only be used if the requirements of a fall protection system are met, like the wearing
of certified protection equipment, that the suspension point is above the user and below him is open space with
no obstructions, the minimum fall height is met, etc.
• An emergency rescue plan in case of a fall must exist before the suspension point is used.
3. Inspection before use and recurring inspections
The inspection must be carried out before the rope loops are used for the first time, or with repeated use if the last inspection
took place ≥ one year ago. The inspection has to be documented using the chart in the inspection attachment and then confir-
med with a signature.
Inspection criteria:
a. Check the last entries in the inspection attachment. (Only in the case of recurring inspections)
b. The rope loops are in a faultless condition. There are no inadmissible signs of wear such as: wire breaks, kinked ropes,
pointed rope loops, corrosion or contusions with wire breaks in the contact area of the hook.
c. The concrete ceiling displays no defects whatsoever. Visible spalling, cracks or signs of corrosion are not permissible.
For the initial use, it is recommended to request that the manufacturer confirm the concrete ceiling's faultless condition.
d. The pressure area of the load hook (carabiner) has a radius of curvature of r ≥ 5 mm.
e. The product description (label) is very legible.
The inspections must be carried out by qualified individuals.
