Secure harness to starter housing with 7 inch
(178 mm) tie straps. Connect neutral switch
connector and slide onto retainer as shown.

Turn propeller and shift engine into NEUTRAL
position as shown.
Center neutral switch on shift lever detent. Hold
neutral switch bracket in position and tighten
neutral switch bracket screws to a torque of 35 to
60 in. lbs. (4 to 6.8 N·m).

Loosen both shift lever adjustment screws. Make
sure shift lever detent is in NEUTRAL position.

Remove the left shift lever adjustment screw.
Clean the threads and apply Nut Lock.
Adjust the shift lever parallel to the crankcase
split line as shown. Reinstall the shift lever
adjustment screw.

Hold the shift lever in position and tighten screw
to a torque of 80 to 106 in. lbs. (9 to 12 N·m).
Remove the right shift lever adjustment screw.

Clean the threads and apply Nut Lock. Reinstall
and tighten screw to a torque of 80 to 106 in. lbs.
(9 to 12 N·m).
