Witter KA36BU Instructions De Montage

MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Bar
B 1 Right Hand sidearm
C 1 Left hand Cleat.
F 6 M10 x 30 x 1.25 fine pitch Bolts, Lock Washers and 6 Flat Washers (25mm OD.)
G 3 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts and Serrated Flange Nuts and 1 Flat Washer (25mm OD.)
ZE 1 Electrical Plate (ZEP3)
BC 4 M12 Bolt Caps
ZN 1 Neck Kit.
Note: This tow bar must be used with either a Witter Neck Kit or Class A50-1 or A50-X tow ball dimensionally Conforming to
A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the tow bar.
FITTING
1. Remove the plastic under tray (10 Plastic clips along the edge of the bumper trim and inside the wheel arch, 3 Metal nuts
and 1 central plastic nut)
2. Remove the towing eye on the nearside of the vehicle.(hand to customer)
3. Remove any protective tape/coating around mountings in chassis.
4. Loosely attach Bent Cleat (C) and Sidearm (B) to existing captive nuts in vehicle chassis using fasteners (F). Choose
which set of holes to use from images below.
5. Loosely attach Crossbar (A) to Brackets (B and C) using fasteners (G),. and correct set of holes
6. Secure near-side end of Cross Bar (A) to the side of chassis rail using remainder of fasteners (F), and correct set of holes.
7. Cut the inner tray on the nearside as per instruction view or extract the metal rivets holding the trim and remove that
section completely.
8. Loosely re-fit the under tray before fully tightening any fixings then fully tighten fixings to the correct torques and replace the
under tray fixings.
9. Loosely attach Neck option (ZN) and Electrical Plate (ZE) to Crossbar (A) using separate Neck fitting instructions, and
correct set of holes. (See images below)
10. Fully tighten all bolts and fit Bolts Caps (BC) to fasteners securing the Neck Kit (ZN).
Recommended torque settings:
Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
Grade 10.9: M12 – 139Nm, M10 – 78Nm
