The scale/rust problem
Hard, chalky water causes terrible scale deposits
in the kitchen and bathroom, in all water pipes
and household appliances. The pipes often clog
up so bad, that they need to be replaced.
Expensive repairs from a technician will then
become inevitable.
The eco-friendly calmat
The calmat® scale converter is a physical water
treatment system.
1
Normally in untreated water, calcium crystals form
into bur-like structures (1). These structures then
stick to each other and form hard scale deposits
inside your pipes. The calmat® control unit gene-
rates dynamic high-frequency electronic impulses
that are transmitted into the water. After the treat-
ment, the calcium crystals form into a rod-like struc-
ture (2). In this form, they can no longer attach to
each other or build deposits. The harmless crystal-
rods are held in suspension in the water. In this form
they will be washed out of the piping system.
Thanks to the calmat® treatment, minimal amounts
of carbonic acid are released. Carbonic acid is a
natural scale solvent that also exists in nature.
released carbonic acid reduces slowly and gent-
le existing scale and rust deposits in the piping
system.
Because carbonic acid can however only dissolve
"scale from scale", a carbonate protective layer
remains in the cleared metal pipe. This prevents
pitting corrosion in all metal pipes.
layer against pitting corrosion is formed in the
piping system.
When the treated water leaves the piping system,
it still carries the scale away as suspended particles.
