regular maintenance and cleaning activities are
required which are described in this chapter. If you
observe the necessary caution and carry out the
maintenance at regular intervals, any problems
occuring will be detected and corrected before they
lead to a total standstill.
The indicated maintenance intervals can vary
depending on the specific working and ambient
conditions. Therefore it is recommended to thoroughly
inspect the complete product once every year beside
the indicated periodic maintenance. Fur this purpose
contact your supplier.
WARNING
.
j
Overdue maintenance can cause fire.
Action
Check the filters for damage, clogging and saturation.
Check via the manual operation the functioning of the cleaning
mechanism (turning, leakage). To do this, open the unit and take off the
lid from the filter.
Check the level of the dust and dirt particles in the drum of the SCS and
the pre-separator.
9.2
Replacing the filters
WARNING
.
Saturated filters and/or full drums often
!
contain dust and dirt particles which at
inhalation may form a health hazard. When
replacing them always wear a high-quality
and approved face mask. Wrap everything in
a properly closed plastic bag and dispose of it
in compliance with the local regulations.
Always replace both filters at the same time.
9.2.1 Filters
•
Replace the filters:
- when damaged;
- when the extraction capacity remains insufficient;
- in case of a continuous alarm situation, while the
cleaning mechanism is running (see par. 8.1).
You must learn from experience when to replace the
filters, as the lifespan of the filters strongly depends on
the composition of the welding fumes, the humidity
etc.
•
Disconnect the control box CB-SCS from the mains.
•
Disconnect the compressed air connection.
•
Loosen the nuts and remove the cover.
•
Remove the filter cover.
•
Remove the upper filter. For this purpose the filter
has been fitted with special plastic handles.

Remove the intermediate ring.
•
Remove the lower filter. The lower ring does not
need dismounting.
•
Position the new filters, intermediate ring and filter
cover in reverse order and mount the cover. Please,
note the correct positioning of the intermediate ring
and the condition of the seal of the cover.
•
Check the whole unit for air-tightness.
CAUTION!

or the time-controlled cleaning process during
the first 10 net operation hours; the filter
efficiency will be reduced by this.
