This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its lifecycle could harm
the environment.
Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal waste; it should be taken to a specialised
company for recycling.
This device should be returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service.
Respect the local environmental rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.
Thank you for buying the ZL1000N! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If the
device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer.
2. Basic Operation
Depress the trigger to turn the spotlight on (fig. 1 on p. 2) and simply release it to turn the spotlight off again (fig. 2
on p. 2). When fully charged, the spotlight can operate continually for up to 25 minutes. Lock the ON-switch by
depressing the trigger and moving the locking bar into position (fig. 3 on p. 2). Move the locking bar to the unlocking
position to release the lock (fig. 4 on p. 2).
Note that some "smoking" may occur during the first 10 to 20 minutes. This is normal and it will not damage the
device in any way. Also normal is the slight discoloration that may occur in certain areas of the reflector. Do not
touch the bulb or the reflector. Proceed with caution when cleaning the lens. Use a soft cloth and slightly soapy
water. Do not use abrasives or chemicals.
3. Charging Instructions
The battery will last for years if properly taken care of. It has a life expectancy of 150 to 200 complete cycles (25
minutes each). When the battery is recharged before being fully discharged, however, its life expectancy increases
to 700 to 800 cycles.
A fully charged battery provides some 20 to 25 minutes of continuous light.
Try to keep the spotlight fully charged when not in use. The device can be stored for more than 3 months without a
recharge if it is stored with a fully charged battery. Make sure the power cord is plugged securely when you are
recharging the battery. Under normal conditions, recharging the battery takes 14 to 18 hours when connected to an
AC receptacle.
The recharge takes 2 to 5 hours with a 12VDC cigarette lighter plug. Respect the polarity requirements when using
this source: the cigarette lighter plug should have negative polarity. Polarity reversal will damage the battery. Most
factory-installed cigarette lighter plugs have negative ground.
The spotlight was designed to be powered through its own battery or through a 12V-source. Even though the
spotlight can be recharged via an AC or DC source, it was not designed to operate from an AC source. Continuous
operation is not recommended. Do not leave the device unsupervised while the trigger is still locked in the ON-
position.
