6.2.2 Slope and gradient locations etc.
When installing a tank close to (< 5 m) a slope,
earth mound or embankment, a retaining wall that
has been statically calculated must be built to take
up any pressure applied by the earth. The retaining
wall must over reach the tank dimensions by at
least 500 mm in all directions and be positioned at
a distance no closer than 1200 mm from the tank.
6.2.3 Installation adjacent to traffic areas
When installing the tank adjacent to areas that will
be traversed by traffic heavier than passenger
cars, then it is absolutely necessary to guarantee
that the load that occurs due to these vehicles will
not be transferred to the tanks. The minimum

Joining multiple vessels
The coupling of two or more tanks is achieved by means of assembly surfaces moulded into the bases of
the tanks, special seals and canalisation pipes. The openings are only to be undertaken with the special
core drills (hole saws) in the appropriate sizes. It is important to note that the distance between the tanks
is minimum 800 mm or 1000 mm if the tanks are to be installed side by side. The canalisation pipe must
extend into the tank at least 200 mm.
