2.5.1 Brake
In a servomotor with brake, check that it works before running the motor.
The red, brown or green/red wire is connected to + 24 V, + 10 %,
The blue or green/blue wire is connected to 0 V. Servomotor brakes should not be use to stop the
motor but to immobilize it in rotation when it is already stationary.
Note : Observe the polarity and tolerance under tension.
2.6 Maintenance
2.6.1 Bearings :
The bearings have a double protection (2LB) and are permanently lubricated.
However, temperature and noise should be checked every 3 000 hours.
2.6.2 Brushes :
•
Brush wear depends mainly on the conditions in which the servomotor is used.
They should be replaced when only 6mm of brush remain.
•
The
brushes
After checking, replace them in exactly the position they were in before removal. The
plugs should be replaced at the same time as the brushes.
•
Beware of catching the spring coils under the end piece.
•
The commutation surface should be a fairly shiny, even, brownish-black colour.
•
The full surface of the brushes should touch the commutator ; if it does not, wait until the
end of the running-in period before a final examination.
•
The brush surface should be shiny. If the entire brush surface is matt black, commutation
will be poor and the following checks should be made :
∗
commutator condition,
∗
operating conditions of the servomotor,
∗
vibration levels,
∗
quality of the electronic supply.
