Opening and closing Internet connections manually

Log in to the Gigaset SE551 WLAN dsl/cable. To do this open your web browser.
ì
Enter the IP address of the Gigaset SE551 WLAN dsl/cable in the browser's address
field:
http://192.168.2.1
ì
Enter your password if necessary and click OK.
ì
Click on Connect or Disconnect.
ì
Close your web browser.

Operating information

Please note the following points to ensure the secure use of your network:

Assign a password for the user interface so that unauthorised persons cannot make
any changes to the configuration.

Change the SSID for all wireless devices (Gigaset SE551 WLAN dsl/cable and network
adapter) in your network and deactivate the SSID broadcast option to hide your net-
work.

Use an encryption system for the wireless transmission of data (WPA or WEP encryp-
tion).
u
Use the MAC address filter to permit only your selected PCs wireless access to the
Gigaset SE551 WLAN dsl/cable.
