GB
• never direct the water jet towards yourself or any other people or
animals;
• do not use the high pressure cleaner when other people are in
the work area, if they do not have any protective clothing;
• do not lock the function lever on the spray gun during service;
• hold the spray gun and semi-lance firmly since the water jet un-
der high pressure generates a considerable reaction force;
• do not use the machine where rain can fall on it or in very damp
environments;
• do not lean any object on the machine during operational activity;
• position the machine on a flat surface and prevent unwanted
handling using appropriate lock devices;
• continuously supply the machine with clean water; do not supply
the machine with salted water or potentially dangerous (explo-
sive, toxic or inflammable) liquids;
• avoid leaving the machine exposed to very low temperatures
where there is a risk of freezing;
• at the end of all operational activity, turn off the machine using
the switch;
• connect the high pressure cleaner to the water mains using rein-
forced rubber pipes with an adequate section and checking junc-
tion seals;
• wash tyres and their valves at a distance greater than 30 cm, to
prevent the high pressure jet from damaging them (the same is
indicated by the tyre changing colour);
• only use detergents declared to be appropriate for high pressure
cleaners.
Attention
Repairs should only be carried out by specialised person-
nel. Always contact one of our technical assistance cen-
tres. Failure to respect the above absolves the manufac-
turer of any liability and constitutes negligent use of the
product.
6. OPERATING THE HIGH PRESSURE CLEANER
MACHINE ASSEMBLY
Before starting up the machine, it is necessary to assemble the
handle, using the 8 fastening screws (see Fig. 4).
In addition, it is necessary to check the level of the oil in the high
pressure pump which must be half way from the control window (see
Fig. 8). Using the machine with insufficient oil can cause the high pres-
sure pump to breakdown.
Also check that the filter mounted in the water input junction is
clean (see Fig. 9).
ACCESSORIES ASSEMBLY
Accessories are supplied as follows (see Fig. 5):
• the high pressure pipe, already connected to the automatic spray
gun and the fixed semi-lance;
• the lance terminal, already prepared with the water nozzle to be
used and with an adjustable nozzle holder head; model 200/30 is
provided with a double lance;
• (if requested) the manual hose reel, disassembled: the instruc-
tions are enclosed inside the packaging;
• (if requested) the device for hydrosanding: see paragraph "7" for
instructions.
Connect the H.P. pipe, or the linking pipe to hose reel, to the high
pressure water outlet fitting union on the high pressure cleaner (rapid
screw connection).

CONNECTION TO THE WATER MAINS
Using the plastic rubber pipe junction already screwed to the water
inlet pipe, it is necessary to connect a rubber pipe with an internal di-
ameter equal to 19 mm or equal to 25 mm for model 200/30 (not pro-
vided with the machine).
Correct functioning of the high pressure cleaner is obtained if the
supply pressure is at least 1,5-2 bar: with lower pressures, the quantity
of water supplied may not be sufficient. The flow rate for the supply
water must be at least equal to the of the machine nominal flow rate.
The maximum temperature for the supply water must not exceed
40°C; higher temperatures can damage the pump seal gaskets.
Attention
Any solid particles or air bubbles could clog the nozzle or
obstruct correct functioning. To avoid the same, we rec-
ommend carrying out an initial start-up of the high pres-
sure cleaner without the lance, allowing the water to ex-
it for a few seconds.
Then screw the lance on the fixed semi-lance.
CONNECTION TO THE ELECTRICITY MAINS
The machine must be connected to an electricity system in compli-
ance with current regulations. Electricity specifications are those listed
in the technical data table and on the rating plate, which must match
those of the electricity mains supply. Before inserting the electricity
plug in the socket, it is essential to ensure that the machine switch is in
the "0" position.
All warnings set out in paragraph "5" remain valid, with failure to
respect the same constituting cancellation of any warranty rights and
absolving the manufacturer of any liability.
High pressure cleaners in the MAXIMA series have a predisposi-
tion for connection to power supply electricity lines of a triphase 50Hz,
400V (200/30, 200/21, 200/15, 150/21, 150/15) or monophase type,
50Hz, 230V (120/10).
Where it is necessary to transform a machine (not for Mod.
200/30) from 400V triphase to 230V triphase you have to:
• replace the contactor, the main switch, the control box and the
control lamp;
• connect the bars of the motor terminal board as indicated in the
annexed wiring diagram (see paragraph "11");
• replace the adhesive label with one indicating connection to the
selected voltage.
7. USING THE HIGH PRESSURE CLEANER
START-UP
After checking that the operations described in paragraph "6" have
been carried out, relative to start-up, it is necessary to proceed as follows:
• open the tap for the hydric system;
• start-up the high pressure cleaner, pressing the switch button to
the "I" position;
• press the spray gunl lever, gripping it firmly, and direct the water
jet towards the surface to be cleaned.
INTERRUPTION
The machine is equipped with a delayed total stop device; hence, if
the pistol lever is released, the exit of water is immediately interrupted,
while the pump-motor continues to rotate for approx. 40 seconds, after
which the group stops. The high pressure cleaner automatically restarts
