Sealing layers in accordance with the state of the art
In order to prevent the penetration of moisture, a sealing layer needs to be con-
structed in accordance with the state of the art. In order to ensure this, the intended
option is to glue the cavity wall socket and sealing collar together using Schlüter
KERDI-COLL-L. Professional adhesion is a complex process and is dependent on
many factors (e.g. materials used and material pairings). With regard to the use of
Schlüter KERDI-COLL-L for adhesion, it is imperative that the instructions and guid-

ance in data sheet 8.4 be implemented and that due consideration be given to the
information in the safety data sheets for Schlüter
KERDI-COLL-RL.
If deviating products are used, it is imperative that the specifications of the respective
manufacturer be followed.
Using a cavity wall socket with a sealing collar, cavities can be created behind LED modules
to accommodate the plug connectors. The side of the cable to which the white connector is
attached must be fed through the cavity wall socket with sealing collar. »
1. Make a cut-out in the building panel (40 x 120 mm).
2. Thread the end of the connection cable with the white connector through the cable bushing.
3. Make sure that the shrink tubing on the connection cable is located in the area of the
sealing collar.
4. Fix the cable bushing in place crosswise with 2 cable ties. This should seal it.
5. Shorten the cable ties.
6. Insert the cavity wall socket and sealing collar in the cut-out that was made »
7. Glue the cavity wall socket and sealing collar to the installation wall (e.g. mounting plate)
in accordance with the state of the art. The adhesion must permanently prevent moisture
from penetrating the adhesive surface.
8. Attach strips of self-adhesive sealing membrane in such a way that the cavity wall socket
is sealed on both sides. Only put an opening where the cable opening of the mounting
profile is going to be located.
