3 - Remote control description
RETRIEVAL OF REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS (DIFFERENTLY ABLE PEOPLE MODE)
The main remote control functions can be retrieved also by a differently able user by means of the
signal coming from an external sensor (control devices allowing to use the residual motor ability of
a differently able person).
KEY SCAN – the first signal coming from the external sensor will start the scan of the first six
remote control keys (video door entry system and applications); the key reached by the scan can
be recognised thanks to the light and/or sound signal.
KEY SELECTION – the second signal coming from the sensor stops the scan on the selected key.
REMOTE CONTROL ACTIVATION – the third signal coming from the sensor is equivalent to press-
ing the selected key.
If the selected key is a direct video door entry system key, the related radio command will be
given and the remote control will go back to the default mode.
If the selected key is a key associated with one of the available applications, the related radio
command will be given, the key will stay on, and a second scan on the OK, C, and joystick keys
will start.
During this second scan the system will work as previously described: when the first signal com-
ing from the external sensor is received the scan will stop on the selected key, when the second
signal is received the command will be executed.
The operation with the four keys forming the joystick is slightly different: the first signal will stop
the scan, a second short signal will execute the command, while a second long signal will be
equivalent to the prolonged pressing of the key, i.e. the remote control will keep transmitting
the radio frames every 500 ms as if the key were being constantly kept pressed, which is quite
difficult to obtain with a vacuum/blow sensor.
When the third signal from the sensor is received, radio transmission will stop, as would happen
when the key is released after being kept pressed for a long time. In both cases, short or prolonged
pressure, after the radio command has been transmitted the scan on the joystick will resume, so
that the relevant application will not need to be constantly selected to send several commands
(for example in the Navigation menu on the TV).
The command associated with the C key is a "cancel" command and, in case of scanning on the
joystick keys within an application, allows to exit the scan and therefore the selected application.
To select other applications or the keys for direct access to the video door entry system functions,
re–start the main scan using the external sensor again.
